Cats love their people. They are not immune to those loving and thoughtful extra gestures that will keep their loyalties focused upon us. And the best part? It doesn’t really take much effort on your part to love your cat a little extra once in a while!

Petmd.com offers a few helpful suggestions to ensure your cat will love you even more than he already does:

Keep Litter Boxes Clean

Cats love a clean body and a clean environment, and nothing says loving like a clean toilet. Thank you in advance! Scoop the litter box at least once a day make sure it is odor-free!

Schedule Play Time With Your Cat

Get some toy mice, or a new wand toy and let him go crazy trying to catch them all. Engage your cat’s innate hunter prowess and let him capture his “prey!”

Puzzle toys can be fun, too.  Marty likes the Petstages Tower of Tracks for impromptu toy play time.

If you have more than one pet, schedule one-on-one time with your cat.  This will make him feel special, knowing he doesn’t have to compete for your attention for a while.

Don’t Forget Super Yummy Treats!

Cats love those, but they don’t necessarily have to be those dry pellets. In fact, use those sparingly. Get some lean protein treats, such as freeze-dried pieces of turkey or lamb. Your cat will love you for it!

Snuggle With Your Cat At Every Opportunity

If your cat approaches you asking for it, take a break and join in on the snuggle fun! It’s great bonding time, too!

Provide A Safe Environment

Love your cat by providing him with a safe, warm and comfortable place to sleep; keep his diet healthy; make sure he visits the veterinarian on a regular basis; and shower him with your kind and loving spirit.

Now, that’s not asking for too much, is it?  Those that don’t understand cat behavior believe cats are always aloof.  Cat lovers know, however, that once a cat picks you, he will love you forever.
