Have a dog that likes to explore outside? You will need some vegetable shortening!

The Spirit of Bo, returning to advise and enlighten: While my earthly furry friends are on Spring Break, I have stepped in to keep the blog humming. As many of you may know, I am a stickler when it comes to pet safety and health tips and have provided a few here, thanks to my friends at prevention.com.
Got burs in the fur? Grab the Crisco all-vegetable shortening! Put on some work gloves, as you won’t want to get pricked by those pesky burs, work a dab of Crisco into the affected area and then pry the burs loose. To remove the vegetable shortening, shampoo your dog.
Is your dog chewing on things he shouldn’t? Coat the forbidden object with a dab of BENGAY. The smell will make him turn his nose up at it. If he is chewing on furniture, fill a 16-ounce trigger spray bottle with five ounces of Heinz White Vinegar, five ounces of Heinz Apple Cider Vinegar and five ounces of water all mixed together. Spray the solution on any furniture your dog likes to chew.
Pooping or peeing inside? To keep your dog away from any area on the floor or carpet where he has previously made a deposit, cut open a trash bag along the seams and then cover the spot with the plastic. Dogs do not like the feeling of plastic and will stay away from those spots.
Have a blessed day. I shall return! I always do!
