Party Marty, the observer of all things interesting and comical: You know, I find it fascinating how often dogs and cats are used in famous quotes, such as “It’s raining cats and dogs” or “This is going to the dogs.” In honor of all the cats in the world, and probably in good humor, too, here are a few notable expressions I found online that involve the use of the word cat.
Slicker than cat crap on a linoleum floor
While the cat’s away the mice will play
Look what the cat dragged in
Cat’s pajamas
Curiosity killed the cat
Busy as a cat on a hot tin roof
Has the cat got your tongue?
When the cat’s away, the mice will play
Morals of an alley cat and scruples of a snake
Busier than a one-eyed cat watching two mouse holes
Busier than a three legged cat in a dry sand box
Nervous as a long tailed cat in a living room full of rockers
I don’t know you from Adam’s house cat!
Looking like the cat who swallowed the canary
Cat’s meow
Who let the cat out of the bag?
There’s more than one way to skin a cat
Thanks to raskys.com for sharing these with us! Gotta love us cats!
