New Show: Dogs in the City

You may’ve seen the ads for the new CBS show, Dogs in the City, which airs on Wednesdays, 7-8p Central Time.

I taped the episode and watched it today.  I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I will say I liked “dog guru” Justin Silver’s approach to helping dog owners with various problems they were having with their pets.

Silver focused primarily on the owners and how they interact with their pets.  I think this is a great approach since my belief is most dog behavioral problems begin with the human rather than with the dog.  Working in New York City, he is faced with some rather strong personalities, but he kept them in check and managed to get his point across.

The first episode dealt with three stories:  one case of dog aggression in an office environment, a dog too attached to his owner, and a father/daughter concerned about the health of their dog.  In all cases, Silver was able to help resolve the issues with just a few changes in how the owner interacted with their pet.

Very personable, with a little GQ look thrown in, he’s a nice addition to the dog world.  I recommend checking out Dogs in the City.
