It’s the Week to Celebrate Hands-On Healing

Working everyday with ailing or injured pets takes a special sort of person to care for them. Veterinary technicians go into the office every day, rolling up their sleeves and working with their hands. One responsibility is to help educate the clients and facilitate proper care of the pet, and encourage a full recovery. Often, vet techs aid members of the veterinary healthcare team with examinations, treatments and procedures. In honor of vet techs across the country, this week has been proclaimed National Veterinary Technician Week, with the theme “Hands-On Healing”.
The National Association of Veterinary Technicians in American (NAVTA) has proclaimed the third week of each October to be National Veterinary Technician Week. This annual event recognizes vet techs for their contributions in pet healthcare, as well as veterinarians, assistants, practice managers and others involved in this care. This year, Hill’s Pet Nutrition® is sponsoring the week-long celebration.
